Imagine Your Story: a castle rising from the pages of an open book

June 15-August 22, 2020: Imagine Your Story

Even though the library is closed, we are still hosting Summer Library Program 2020! You can use Beanstack online or download the Beanstack Tracker app on your device.

We strongly encourage our patrons to use Beanstack this summer, but if you prefer a traditional paper log you can print one out (Child,Teen, Adult) or request Curbside Pick-Up for a log by emailing storef@stolib.org or calling 608-873-6281 and leaving a message. We'll track your progress via phone or email, and paper log participants will still be eligible for the same incentives and grand prizes as Beanstack users.

This summer, we invite children, teens, and adults to:

  • Track the number of minutes you read between June 15-August 22
  • Earn free books (children and teens) (Please note: book prizes will be available starting July 10)
  • Earn raffle tickets to win grand prizes
  • Help us meet our Community Reading goal for the summer: 13,060 hours (one hour for each resident of Stoughton)

Here is a printable flyer advertising our program--would you consider posting this in the window of your business, on a community bulletin board, etc.?

Be sure to check this website and our Facebook page for the most up-to-date information.

Frequently Asked Questions

My child/teen earned a prize and I called or emailed, but no one has gotten back to me yet. Why not?
Staff are having to stagger when we come in the building in order to maintain social distancing, and COVID-19 means our staff spend a lot of time scheduling curbside pickups, planning for a safe partial reopening, doing virtual programs, and more. We may only be able to answer Summer Library Program calls and emails a few set times per week; apologies for the delay.

Why can't my child/teen pick up their prize book until July 10?
Several of our normal venues for buying discounted prize books have closed, so we're having to find inventive and resourceful ways to buy a large volume of books. We are also not simply placing the items on a cart for readers to browse and choose from. Out of an abundance of caution, we will have "virtual prize carts" for children and teens. Contact the library when a reader has earned a free book prize and we will be in touch on or after July 10 to share the list of prize books with you. We'll place the book on the hold shelf for your reader to pick up.

Will you be giving out prize passes to Eugster's Family Farm this summer?
We are still waiting for confirmation that we will receive these passes, but as far as we know we will still be receiving them. We don't know details about the passes yet, such as dates when they can be used.

If I choose not to use Beanstack, does this mean I'll miss out on the chance to earn virtual raffle tickets and win a grand prize?
If you use a traditional pen-and-paper log, be sure to contact us to log your hours. Staff will input your information in Beanstack as an Offline Reader and enter you into the drawing(s) you hope to win. The program ends on August 22, but please try to have those hours called or emailed in to staff at least a day before that so we have time to input them. For Children's logs, email abosky@stolib.org. For Teen or Adult logs, email storef@stolib.org. Or you can call 608-873-6281.

What about 1000 Books Before Kindergarten? Can I pick up prize books?
Good news: starting July 10, you'll be able to request prize books for 1000 Books Before Kindergarten by browsing our online "cart" and choosing the title your child would like! Email abosky@stolib.org or call 608-873-6281.
