Adult Craft Club meets on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm, from February through June and from August through December. Registration is required, as supplies are limited, and we ask that you call (608-873-6281) or email the library to reserve a spot. Registration opens two weeks before the program.
The goal of Craft Club is to try new arts and crafts techniques. The projects focus more on the technique than on the outcome and everyone's project turns out differently. No experience is necessary for any of the projects.
Upcoming projects and dates:
February 6: Dye
Here is a chance for those who missed the shibori class in December to come and learn the basics of shibori dyeing. Learn how to fold and fasten fabric before dyeing to create amazing patterns.
March 5: Weave
Make your own frame loom and weave a small project. We will teach you how to make yarn from t-shirts and then learn the basics of weaving on your new loom. All materials provided, but donations of wooden (picture) frames of various sizes and colorful t-shirts with minimal graphics are welcomed! Bring your own hammer! (BYOH!)
April 2: Paint
Join us to learn the basics of rosemaling with local artist Patty Tofslund! Make your own bookmark after learning some special brush strokes during this class. All materials provided.
May 7: Go Green
Go green at the library as we explore some fun upcycling and plant themed crafts. Use fun thrifty finds and plants to create a whimsical gift. All materials provided, but bring along your own finds to make your masterpiece.
June 4: Resin
Learn about resin and make a cool magnet or pendant. We will pull out all sorts of treasures for you to design your own poured resin creation. Supplies provided, but your favorite finds are always welcome.
