Adult Craft Club

Adult Craft Club meets on the first Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm, from February through June and from August through December. Registration is required, as supplies are limited, and we ask that you call or email the library to reserve a spot. Registration opens two weeks before the program.

The goal of Craft Club is to try new arts and crafts techniques. The projects focus more on the technique than on the outcome and everyone's project turns out differently. No experience is necessary for any of the projects.

Upcoming projects and dates:

August 2– Dye it (again)!
Shibori dyeing was such a great craft, we wanted to dye again this summer! Join us as we rock your socks (and bandanas too)! See demonstrations on some popular tie-dye techniques and make your own item to take home. Socks and bandanas provided, but feel free to bring your own shirt or other material if you prefer.

September 6 – Cross-stitch it!
This is not your mama’s embroidery! Learn the basics of cross-stitch and stitch a subversive saying just for you! Materials provided.  Donations of Aida cloth, embroidery hoops and floss appreciated.

October 4 – Paint it!
Decorate a pumpkin or paint a picture of a pumpkin as we celebrate with seasonal crafts.

November 8– Wash it!
Clean up at craft club as soap-making returns to the library. Use melt-and-pour soap, food-grade dyes and fun mix-ins to make a beautiful glycerin soap to give or keep for yourself. Materials provided.

December 6 – Sew it!
Use felt pieces to craft a folk-style ornament for the holidays or to brighten up a gift.  Use our die-cut machine to create shapes and add glue, embroidery or more felt to create some one of a kind decoration. Materials proved.
December 13 - Sew it at the Senior Center! (meets at 1:30pm, call 873-8585 to register)
Use felt pieces to craft a folk-style ornament for the holidays or to brighten up a gift.  Use our die-cut machine to create shapes and add glue, embroidery or more felt to create some one of a kind decoration. Materials proved.
