The library has a limited supply of paper tax forms. The filing deadline this year was Wednesday, April 18.
The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program, which offers the preparation of basic income tax returns for free, is available for low-to-moderate income individuals, those with disabilities, non-English speaking individuals, seniors, military personnel, and those who quality for the homestead credit or the earned income credit.
This service will be offered in Stoughton this year, at Covenant Lutheran Church (1525 N. Van Buren Street). Visit irs.treasury.gov/freetaxprep for additional locations.
Appointments are required, and can be made by calling (608)216-3613. These calls must be made between 12:00-5:00 on Thursdays (starting on 1/18) or from 9:00-1:00 on Saturdays (starting on 1/20). Appointments may also be requested in-person, but only on the dates listed below.
