 What is an Instant Message? |
| IM is a form of conversation, or chat, between two people based on typed text. IM chats happen in realtime using a software application on a computer connected to the internet. Both people must be on-line and available to chat at the same time. |
 Who will I IM? |
Adult Services staff will be on-line to assist you with your reference, informational, and reader’s advisory questions via IM from Monday – Thursday, 6 - 8 pm and other times when available. We will respond as quickly as possible; however, please be aware that we may be helping other patrons also and may not respond immediately. |

You will need to use your personal computer to IM us. Simply add askstoref (AIM/gtalk/MSN/Yahoo) to your buddy list and you will be able to see when we are on-line and available to assist you. Don’t have an IM account but want to chat anyway? Simply use the Meebo widget on this page (requires Flash 7+). |
