Computers and Wireless Internet

Public Computers

Patrons must have a valid library card to access the public computers. Patrons may use up to 2 hours of computer access a day. You can make a computer reservation online, in person or by phone. If you are visiting or do not have a library card, ask the Information Desk on the 2nd floor for a computer pass. The library does not supply headphones, but does sell headphones and USB drives for a fee.

First Floor Children's Computers

  • 2 Internet access computers for children ages 12 and under
  • 1 Stoughton School District Internet access computer for students
  • 2 AWE early literacy computers for children  (no Internet or printing)

Second Floor Adult and Teen Computers (ages 13 and up)

  • 7 Internet access computers with Microsoft Office
  • 2 Internet computers with scanners
  • 1 Stoughton School District Internet access computer for students
  • All computers print in black and white ($.15 per page) and color ($.50 per page)

Laptop Computer (ages 16 and up)

  • 1 patron laptop computer for use inside the library (for up to one day)
  • Requires a valid SCLS library card in good standing (fines under $20.00) and a valid WI photo id (driver’s license or state identification card)
  • Work should be saved to a USB drive
  • Printing is available for the standard charges
  • Users agree to our Internet Acceptable Use Policy and Library Materials Use Policy
  • Headphones are required if sound is being used

Wireless Internet

The library has free wireless Internet throughout the building. There are tables with plugs on the Mezzanine and counters with plugs on the 2nd floor for easy laptop or tablet use. The wireless Internet does not require a password. The library does not offer wireless printing at this time.
