New audio formats at Stoughton

What’s new at the library? More than you can imagine!
The Stoughton Public Library is bringing to you the newest and hottest advances in library services and technology. Two of the newest technologies making their way to the forefront are the MP3 and digital audiobooks. Here are a few products you can take for a test run yourself. You'll find them at the Stoughton Public Library Adult Services Department.
MP3 CDs They look just like the familiar CD but high capacity storage allows five audiobook CDs (or more) on just one CD. The Stoughton Public Library now owns dozens of MP3 CDs, which can be found in the Audio Visual section behind the 2nd floor Reference Desk. Note: MP3 CDs must be played on a MP3 CD player.

	Conventional in appearance, yet so versatile – listen to standard CDs or the new MP3 format CDs.
	Great sound in a small package.
	A handy remote control and anti skip protection.
	The Stoughton Public Library owns one IRiver Slim. It comes complete with a permanent rechargeable battery, power adapter and earphones all in a handy carrying bag. Stop at the Reference Desk to check out this MP3 player.
The PLAYAWAY The first ever audiobook and player-in-one!
	The Playaway fits into your pocket or purse! Perfect for long commutes, vacation, anywhere you want to go.
	Digital format provides a crisp and clear sound.
	Smaller than an iPod, the Playaway measures approximately 3 inches by 2 inches wide and it weighs just 6 ounces!
	Forget juggling multiple cassettes or CDs. No more awkward cassette or CD player. The Playaway is small, light, portable and convenient, but frankly, they're just plain cute!
	One AAA battery is required to operate the the Playaway unit. You can use your own batteries or ask at the Circulation Desk to check out a pair of rechargeable batteries, as available.
	Use your own earphones or headset, or you can purchase a pair of ear buds at the library for just $1.00.
